Cuisinart CSC-650 Slow Cooker.
The first product A.B.I.D. designed for Cuisinart, the CSC-650 Slow Cooker was a new interpretation of an old reliable product. Slow cooking had fallen out of fashion since its heyday in the '70s and the beige oval shaped cookers with floral print decor still available on the market did nothing to help slow cooking's old fashioned image.
By creating a new design language featuring modern shapes and materials, A.B.I.D. created a product that was at home in a modern gourmet kitchen. The introduction of the product coincided with a new level of interest in slow cooking. Helped by articles extolling the virtues of slow cooking in the New York Times and gourmet magazines the CSC-650 enjoyed brisk sales which led Cuisinart to introduce an entire line of table top cooking appliances.
